What to expect

First appointment with ANS Clinic

The first appointment includes a detailed consultation concerning your complaints and medical record. Please also inform us about your pre-existing conditions, the medications and allergies administered.

Particularly helpful here are:

• Medical reports
• Current medication plan
• Laboratory test results (blood count, blood glucose etc.)
• If available eg: cardiological results (echocardiography, long-term ECG, long-term blood pressure)
• Urology examination results
• Gastroenterology examination results
• Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

The exploration of current complaints is followed by a physical, neurological examination and the assessments of functions of the central and peripheral nervous system. As a results of your first appointment we would like to inform you of the suspected diagnosis and about autonomic function tests as well as the lab work necessary to confirm the diagnosis. Rare diseases often require a collaboration with specialty clinics and experts in other field of medicine. Thanks to a wide network of specialists working with us we can provide our patients with answers and solution for autonomic disorders originating in fields of rheumatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology and others.
Before considering long distances for your first appointment with us we would recommend to schedule a telephone appointment with us. This helps us to individually prepare your first appointment, select, and preschedule the necessary diagnostic tests.
